Welcome to Austin Career Services-Resume Services:

Do any of these scenarios describe you?

· Suddenly and unexpectedly laid off, downsized, or terminated, and now need to get back into the job market?

· Stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy, and no idea what kind of job might be a good fit for you?

· New to the job market after graduation, or returning to the job market after a long period of not working?

· Not sure how to present and sell yourself in today’s “buyer’s” market where employers want more than skills and experience?

· Your current job is about to disappear, and you see the need to move into a new career.

· You have an interview and you want to be prepared, but it has been a long time since you last interviewed and you do not want to blow this opportunity.

At Austin Career Services...

We understand that the only purpose of a résumé is to help you get an interview. Until that happens, nothing else matters in your job search. So, our focus is on helping you do just that.

The best way to get an interview is to know somebody in the organization who can help you. The second best way is to know somebody who knows somebody in the organization. If neither of those conditions applies to you, your best chance at an interview comes from having a résumé that makes you stand out from the crowd rather than blend into it, and that is where we can help.

The formats you see on the Internet that make your document look pretty without telling the employer what they want to know, are useless. What worked before the economic downturn in 2008 does not get results in today’s job market. Because we are also executive recruiters, we know what employers want to see when they read a résumé. If our candidates do not have great résumés, they do not get interviews and we cannot earn any placement fees. So, it is certainly in our best interests to give them what they want to see in this very important document.

We re-write résumés all the time for the candidates we present to our corporate clients, and we can do the same for you. You get only one chance to impress the reader. Those opportunities are too valuable to waste with a résumé that just looks pretty on paper but does not tell the hiring manager what he or she wants to know.

If you also need help preparing for the interview, we can help with that as well, but get the interview first. A great résumé is the best way to start the process.
